Bee Stings

Your words sting, the way a bee does after it sits on my shoulder
And looks for the perfect spot to slip its fiery stinger into.

But I will rise up and become my own beautiful,
The way a sunflower is,
Before picked,
Before it loses the beauty
That you stole from it.
