The Bedford Girl's Burden

The Bedford Girl’s Burden

Take up the Bedford Girl’s burden

Bring forth all of ye cash

To buy the best

Eventually to smash

This will only last a few

Even though it should make due

It will cease to see the morning dew

Eventually a girl will learn to yearn.

Take up the Bedford Girl's burden

Be done with these wasteless trends

The endless weekends spent shopping

The bank accounts are dead ends

When ye cease to have money left

Your wish to be in style

Will be but a dream

And this shall take a while.
