Loving is showing everyday

That one can always be counted on to help you along your way

Love shows trust

That I can always believe you'll never throw me under the bus

That when I ask you for nothing but the upmost truth

It won't feel like I'm trying to pull out your tooth

But love is more than this, don't fret

Because the importance of love is somewhere that you should place your bets

Love is caring enough to respect wishes of others

And even watching out for people as if they were your own mother

Love can't be purchased in a store, off a shelf

It can't be given or gifted by Santa, or his elves

Love is a feeling, that grows overtime

A passion inside you, which roots itself deep like a vine

All it needs to grow is some TLC

Like paying attention to loved ones, instead of the TV

And trust me I know how these things go

This whole time I've been working hard to make a healthy life of my own

I've learned from experience how one can create joy happiness in life

Whether it be the brightest of days, or the darkest of nights

 Just remember, with time, you too can love greatly

Because when you're around loved ones, your heart must be racing

But race your heart may, it should not be from nervousness, nor fright

But it should be working hard to make every moment just right

Now tread carefully, I've taught you this for a reason

So that you too can love, throughout all four seasons

I have last words of wisdom to beseech thee with today

You should love everyone, whether they're straight, or they're gay

The hate in your heart, you must leave that behind

You must cleanse yourself, your body, your soul, your mind

The sorrow and despair, it won't be there forever

because love brings happiness to all of life's endeavors

I've taught you this because I love you

What does that mean, you may ask

For you hardly know me, a friendship we don't have

But that's what's most important, what some people don't see

That saying I love you, means more to you than it does to me

For showing compassion, is something many have not seen

The less fortunate, treated badly by those who are mean

Because I love you, I tell you again

I can see the smile on your face, showing that you're starting to understand

Finally, at last, I think that you get it

Because I love you, I hope you comprehend.
