It all began with a "Hey" 

A single "hello" 

After sometime this turned to a question 

To which the answer was no. 

You pushed and pushed, until I finally agreed. 

We then were a couple, and I would never be freed.  

 

After some time passed, you asked to dance, 

Upset because I only gave you romance. 

I answered no to this request, 

You heard convince me. 

You shoved a hand in my soul and said 

"Come on, don't you love me?" 

 

What I did next was my very first sin 

And I knew it was not going to be my last,  

For this was the day my white clothes were stained 

Everything lost, my innocence drained. 

 

 

More time passed, more dances done. 

Each one forced, this battle I never won. 

I would cry at night, wishing for my mind to leave. 

I stopped living, my heart no longer on my sleeve. 

 

"I want you more, because I love you"  

I knew this love wasn't true. 

These false words spilled from your lips,  

As your "heart" grasped at my hips 

You made my life feel vein 

My innocence never to return again. 

 

I had enough 

I left you behind 

"But I love you, please stay mine!" 

I had enough 

My heart was thrown on the floor 

Like you did to me when you wanted more. 

There was no more "Because I love you" 

For you did not. 

I had no desire to let you keep up this thought. 

Love is not forceful, it is patient and kind. 

Love is not a dance where your word is greater than mine. 

 

You begged and begged,  

And this was my last sin. 

I decided we could be together again. 

This was my fault, a battle you again won. 

And next thing I knew 

A dance had begun. 

 

You berated me when my days were spent away from you. 

You berated me when I asked to talk to you. 

"Because I love you, I want you to spend with me a week" 

"Because I love you, we don't need to speak" 

 

I had enough, once again. 

 

 

Now I found love 

And love is patient with me. 

Love is nurturing, bright as can be! 
His eyes are windows to the world that is beauty 

his soul is what made me feel! 

I've been a caged bird for so long,  

He's the one who set me free. 

He's the one who lets me sing. 

"Because I love you."  

It's music to my ears 

For now I know this to be true. 

I wouldn't know what love shouldn’t be like 

If it were never for you! 

 

Love is more 

Than what some make it out to be. 

Love is good, it shouldn’t be misery. 

When one hears "I love you" 

They should feel it to be true,  

Love shouldn't be a reason to do bad things.  

Love isn't a way to manipulate. 

Love shouldn't make one feel worthless 

One should feel priceless. 

"Because I love you!" 

Should make you float on air 

If there is no love, that statement shouldn't be there.
