Because I Love You

Because you are mine,

because you are yours

You've seen me at my worst,

and held me true

You've seen me real,

I am free

An open book,

whose heart you so freely took

For us, life is good,

and it is bad

There are days when we question,

is this real?

but I know

You smile, you are my world,

and I can never leave

No matter how much we struggle,

we stay true

Because, when I see you,

I float

And when I feel you,

I melt

And when I have you,

I can see

I know life is better,

Because I love you,

And you love me

This poem is about:
My family
My community
My country
Our world
