Because I could not stop for life
Because I could not stop for life
He kindly stopped for me
And in the carriage life and I
And purest poetry
Life picked me up and showed me things
I hadn't seen before
Then poetry intertwined with me
And simply gave me more
Then in my later years with life
he sensed unwelcomness
I wanted to get rid of him
Because he was a mess
But in that carrige poetry
Stood with me, by my side
Through all the years of life's dismay
With all the times i've cried
Poetry had entangled me
So we both stood as one
I then saw life through poet's eyes
As being not so glum
