Because of him

One man stood up and said it all
There he stood at the Lincoln Memorial spilling his heart
There he stood so proud and tall
Expressing what was setting this nation apart

He opened the eyes of many
Of every religion, gender, and race
His words were not forgotten by any
It was time for this nation to get on pace

Our nation was hurting more than ever before
The leadership was infected
There would be consequences, resulting in war
That’s what was bound to happen, when half our nation was neglected.

From there things got better
Believe it or not
Because ladies and gentlemen, Martin Luther King Jr. was a trend setter
That one man, he did a whole lot.
