Because of Her

Mon, 10/23/2017 - 01:38 -- RaKaye

I remember the times that we would sit

And you would talk and ramble

About yourself and your relationship

And her.

You told me about the times that she lied

She lied about being with her when she was really with him.

But worst of all, instead of you doubting her, she doubted you the most.

She kept a tight grip on you at all times.

I remember the time that she hacked all of your social media accounts

And blocked our best friend

Because she didn't trust you or her.

And that should have been the end of it,

But for some reason,

It wasn't.

What was worse was that she didn't trust any of your female friends.

We went to Panic! at the Disco one year, just you and me

And you lied to her about who you were with and where you were going

Just to protect me from her wrath.

But she somehow found out, probably through one of your friends

Who didn't know to not tell her the truth

And she released her fiery rage at you on the way home.

To which your mother told you, "Mijo, just break up with her,"

And you responded, "I tried."

There was nothing worse than seeing you so upset all the time.

I hated you telling me "I can't ____ because of her."

You were so miserable.

So so miserable.

But you wouldn't listen to me or anyone

You wouldn't take our advice

You would just silently suffer.

And sometime late last summer, you had enough.

And that was it.

It was like something finally awoke inside you telling you,

"You can do better."

And you did.

And now you're happy and with someone else.
