Beauty's Perspective

Location

The hardest thing for someone to find beautiful is a mirror.

A reflection is the crude truth of how you appear.

But it’s only crude if you choose for it to be.

And I chose long ago to decide for myself how I see.

I’d say to myself that, ‘My face is too chubby.’

But I soon found that I could just say, ‘I’m lovely.’

Perspective on yourself is a large part of how you look.

If you don’t like yourself, people will read you like a book.

But if you’re confident and stand tall by those around,

You’ll find that you really are as stunning, as they’ve found.

I’ll admit though, I’m still not too keen on my naked face,

But with a little makeup, I can feel like I’m an ace.

Though, being confident and knowing you’re strengths

Is the best makeup of all, it can go to great lengths.

Smiling is the finest lipstick, and laughing helps your complexion,

Confidence is your foundation, because it covers your imperfections.

I fight acne and redness with my determination,

Because I want to like myself, despite the temptation.

I’m the only person who decides what about me is truthful.

So I get up every day, stand in front of the mirror and say, “ I’m beautiful.”
