Beautiful in Gold
Silver coins roll on their sliver sides across marble floors.
We did it and we're proud of it, never one, double the riches.
There is fresh blood on the royal swords
And diamonds encrust armour is encrusted in gore
From the battles we've won and the lives that we've taken
We win our ruby neclines from killing the nobles.
Everything belongs to us.
And who cares if every inch of gold leaf cost somebody's heart--
Beat? Not us. We're beautiful in gold.
We let the robes flow and we burn them in the evenings
Make it slow so the crying ones can see it
We gotta keep them tough, our kingdom's up for it.
War is the answer.
Pearls in our eyes and electric glowing skin because
We're all machines and the lightning
Is like everything else; it's ours.
We like light and we're brighter than the rest of them
Because we took it from 'em
We'll do whatever we like and nobody stops us.
Absolute monarchs.
I couldn't care less what it cost to give a sword an emerald blade
Then toss it 'cause it got inevitably bloodstained.
We roll the silver coins
And burn it all before you
Better watch the gold leaf smoulder because
We thrive in expensive ashes
Doesn't matter what anybody thinks.
War is the answer
And everything is flammable it's like there's gas fumes in the air
When we set one alight they all go up in red.
And they all obey because we burn the gilded figments
Of half-kilo dreams on camels and corruption
Let the flames flicker and the ashes fly a moment
Let the gold burn
So we can kill for it tomorrow.
The little boy's collecting and he rides through the streets
Nobody refuses because that's far too dangerous
We kill for the sport of course we'd kill for a reason
Don't give us one unless you're already in the ring.
We are fierce and that's a big word for all it seems.
And every one of its six letters keeps ringing in our ears.
We put ribbons in out hair and get it all cut up
(We could've let you but you can't touch us)
And burn them for the fun of it.
Watch it all go up in flames.
It's all just another game.
