A beating heart

Fri, 03/13/2015 - 09:45 -- j.s.m.w
I refuse to be the one in the corner keeping hidden in the dark with the moon at my back
So I stand in the light and watch the sun burn my face
I won't accept rejection at the fate of the sky
So I reach for the heavens
I can't accept that my day has already been made
So I plan a new one
And cultivate new promises in every way
Like deciding centuries from now that I will not tire of sappy love songs and lovers who love at their own risk
Showing everyone it's not about the one night stands
Because waking up each day is a new wisdom to right every wrong
Teaching yourself that loving you isn't the worst wrong
Though these qualities are sometimes tough
That being said I taught myself a few things from this fall
That it would get better
Later on &&
To have a beating heart is to stay strong
