The battle for the minds

The mind is such a terrible thing to waste

And yet my brethren turn to haste

Resisting the urge to thought before action

Finding in chaos a morbid attraction

Oh but the mind is such a terrible thing to waste

Since times of old there’s been a constant battle

Between reason and the subscription to prattle

Between the creation of ideas and thoughts of destruction

Between constructive discourse and petty addiction

Oh but the mind is such a terrible thing to waste

The mind is power determines what is possible or not

The mind is life, without which the flesh is bound to rot

The mind must be nurtured, protected and trained

The mind must be stretched, tested and untamed

Oh but the mind is such a terrible thing to waste

With forces constantly working to control your mind

Do not become one of the victims to be left behind

Your state of mind will determine how you are defined

Through battle for the mind you will come to find

That the mind is a very terrible thing to waste
