Bats

Fluttering, flapping

The leathery wings,

Screeching, howling

The epauletted bat sings.

On a Fall night,

The cries can be heard.

Bats of all kinds,

Mistake them not for a bird.

The Stars in the sky

The bats in the air.

Silence, we hear

Echolocation is there.

Finding their prey,

Sonar in use.

Bats are amazing,

a very inspiring muse.
