I have seen my gender used as a flaw.

They see I am female and then withdrawal.

I was taught from a young age to be small and weak.

To be seen and touched, but never to speak.

To be a delicate flower, with pretty petals.

To never achieve anything, or get any medals.

"Let the boys take care of it," my father would say.

"A woman president? Pft....that'll be the day."

I am here to prove my father wrong.

Because I have grown to be big and strong.

Not in the strong in the body or muscles, in fact.

But where it makes the most impact.

I have trained my mind to overcome the "flaw."

I have trained to keep them from their withdrawal.

For I am a girl, that cannot change.

But I am here to make a change.

A female can be anything she wants.

Don't listen to men as they taunt.

For these taunts are thoughtless.

Be strong, be relentless.

And with that...you will be flawless.
