Back to the Night

I knew a girl who tried to run,

Run to the light, feel the sun

But once you get a taste of the dark,

Nothing else can give you your life's spark

She nearly made it to the light,

Then fell in the grass, gave up her fight

She craved the dark that filled her heart,

The night had taken her apart.

Her desperate need for her self hatred,

Her mind black, freshly painted

To me she had a deadly conversation,

A thought that will lead to devastation,

She turned around, back to the moon

Hopefully we'll see her soon...
