Awesome Regardless
Set, patiently waiting
An automatic clock
waiting as time slowly passes by
silently counting, tick tock, tick tock.
When will the day come,
When I know I no longer have to return?
When I never have be this person anymore,
the memory of this person I once knew burn.
I hear sirens as the end finally draws near.
A bright, gleaming light flashes
All I hear is screaming,
All I can see if my past in a blur
As I grab my diploma, feels like I'm dreaming.
Is this all really happening?
Is the time near?
I must exit the stage and enter life
with a new sense of sight
through it all: the pain, happiness and strife,
I begin my new life.
Educated,
Yet oblivious.
Graduated,
Yet inexperienced.
I will prove everyone wrong.
All of your doubt was misguided.
I will never let you phase me.
I want you to be astonished,
To realize you missed out,
And that your presence was never needed.
I will be awesome regardless.
