Awesome

I swear you’re sent from above,

With translucent wings even more graceful than that of a dove.

You are my savior, yes you.

You saved my life and this is your overdue thank you.

Straight from the foster home you helped me blossom.

Sanya Lynette Settle-Stewart, you are awesome.

Your bad habits go way over my head.

Regardless of it all I’d rather be with you instead.

Providing me with love, you gave me gentle care,

Even when no one else was there.

Often times I take you for granted and can act like a possum,

but Sanya Lynette Settle-Stewart, you are awesome.

Brought into the world by an unfit mother

With crack in my system and problems like no other,

You made sure I wasn’t a product of a corrupt lifestyle.

You endured so much hatred, yet still standing with a smile.

If anyone asks you’re proud to call yourself my mom,

Sanya Lynette Settle-Stewart, you are awesome.
