Awe

She sat there wondering

Staring at the window glass

The rain trickled down

And she watched the drops race

Down to the bottom of the glass

She never asked for much

But she always wanted more

She wanted the world

A life worth living

In a world where those are condemned for being themselves

She wanted to find herself

On a journey to security and praise

She found herself facing obstacles

At times she would succumb

Succumb to the darkness she created for herself

The darkness would consume her

Lost in the depths of nothingness

She would struggle to free herself

Trapped in thoughts that would consume her

Escape from thoughts that broke her

Relinquish her soul

Despite the darkness and fear

The darkness would never overcome

At the moments of despair, she'd free herself

She was light
