Awake

Whether the sun shines or not

life continues progressing

Mistakes, heartaches, pain

Never truly learning a lesson

Spitting on your own grave

Waiting to decompose

A promise no one ever made

To keep you awake when you arose

I'm not a rose, but a weed

People use me for smoke

I am unwritten and indeed

I might as well take a toke

Take a bite out of my brain

You see what is at stake

I'm a raw piece of raw pain

God made a mistake

I shoudn't be awake

I have no stoke in the sun

Mama says I'm a heartbreak

Thoughts like my legs, they run

To the gloomiest of places

Thunder, lightning, hail

I've been to all those places

I am only awake in hell
