Awake

He later awakens outside the bus on a moist forest ground.

The chains that had once oppressed him are gone and he does not stay to ask why.

Decrepit tree trunks and small puddles are all around him before he finally finds a ledge that leads to a clearing with a small hill at the end.

The man sees railing and presumes it is the road he has been searching for.

He slowly shimmies across the ledge, staring at his feet as they separate and join.

Below him is only fog, endlessly swaying into a bottomless pit.

A small leap is taken to reach the clearing faster, when he hears a shouted command behind him.
