The orangey yellow autumn trees never looked so stunning

Driving by, no one but myself at my side

Fields of yellow wheat, falling October leaves

Never really did appreciate this place ‘til now

The beauty unfolds as the scene passes by my windows

Revamped feelings arise and show

Cool, quiet, calm & collective

Time to rest in this place I call home;

This place I forgot all about

It was standing here when I broke all ties with it in the past

And it still stands here when I come back

Doesn’t take pity for me, nor does it hold a grudge

It welcomes me with the biggest open arms

What long arms, outstretched to forgiveness

At the thought, a smile spans across my face

Motherly love, such a warming embrace

Now I stay alone in a familiar room

Eyes fixated on the still mediated scene outside

Smile still drawn out wide across my face

The state of mind is as content as I have ever felt

I missed this feeling, but it has all come back now

A sprinkle of rain now does its job

Silently approaching the October trees

Beauty trickles down every one of those tranquil leaves
