Attitude

Isaiah 1:19

19 If you have a willing attitude and obey,
then you will again eat the good crops of the land.

You did not answer when I spoke ... your heart was somewhere else.

What do I have to do to get your attention?

It seems you cannot hear but you think to know the answers

and when your life falls apart you act like you’re in detention.

Your family did not follow you is your main complaint

but if they had followed ... they would be in your mess.

Look at what you’ve done to deserve the attention

by the affliction that you’ve brought and still you won’t confess.

You live your life a lie and you want to preach some truth.

Up to your neck in the mire you think you smell so sweet.

Engulfed in simplicity by your own desires

you reaped what you sowed in your every need.

Searching for some truth you call a new beginning

taking pain of others to draw some attention.

Standing at the door of reprobation

please don’t kick it in ... in your degradation.

It is never too late or is it now my brother?

As long as there is life ... hope is at the door.

Are choices that we make ... done in desperation

lacking in sincerity ... from our inner core?

Fear brings fear my sister ... fertile ground prepared

solely by the flesh ... there is no escape

In this world of ours where we are residing

cause and effect reap often bitter grapes.
