Ashes by Gonsalves Mpili

Can’t turn back to fire or smoke, I and I will as catalyst,

Ashes grey we red, doesn’t make a difference,

Our cemented hearts cry n’ laugh, ups and downs ashes shall spread,

They say ashes destroy the environment, to us ashes destroy enemies and bind hearts,

Our eyes kissed through eye contact, rains of happiness in our eyes,

Ashes the love, our lips collided,

Ooh!! What an accident, tongues exchange ideas as political debate,

Won’t let go, ashes ashes.
