Are we truly the great?

America, land of the free

Home to so many people,

Where all believe it to be as we are told it is.

But are we truly the great?

America, a place we are told we can be open

Yet we are shunned when we speak our minds

We're given freedom of speech

Yet if what we say is spoken out we are hushed

America, Home of the brave

Yet those in power hide from the majority

Those who are weak are ignored, forgotten.

We fight for change, but history only repeats itself

America, blind to true problems,

Yet wanting to shine light on all

People of all ages, races, genders, and more

Wanting to be heard, seen, known,

Only wanting true freedom for all,

Not a false hope to happiness

My country
