Anxiety The Elephant

Location

Once sitting alone in a cold room

while graced with the warmest of hearts

the voice rings out in a moment of panic

"how do you eat an elephant?'

My mind stops, heart races

Mind now emptied of everything I am

The words repeat and the panic subsides

"how do you eat an elephant?'

I look up, finally, I hear what I heard

"how do you eat an elephant?'

Cut it? No.

Spoon it? No.

bite it? No.

The words repeat and my heart races again

"how do you eat an elephant?'

I have so much to do

but this captivates me.

I have so much to learn

but this steals me.

I have---

stop.

"how do you eat an elephant?'

One bite at a time!
