Ancestors in White

Take a deep breath

Now another

Close your eyes

Slow each heart beat

Let your spirit fall backwards

Out of time

Out of body

Into their circle

Those ancestors in white dresses

Whose drums play an unknowable rhythm

As they dance bare foot on aether

Bodies spiraling like doves

They will let you in

You must ask

With your dance
