The ''American Dream''

I work day and night just to make a dime

I'm followed around like I'm a criminal

Although 80% of misconduct is white collar crime

I'm human, much more than just an animal.

I went through all the trouble crossing the border

I kept getting told this was the land of the free

Yet, I keep having to hide even as I get older

How free can this country be?

It hurts, someone stabbed my arm

That man just stole my purse

I thought this country would bring no harm

How can this place get any worse?

I told the police the exact situation

But I guess equality is not in the equation.
