The knives serve as reflectors tonight
I watch the moon’s transitions imagining
you sleeping elsewhere under the same stars

I wonder what you are awaiting upon your arrival
if you arrive at all
Ghosts appear to help battle the sorrow
as you disappear in the sea of tears

The human pieces are being washed off the pavement
My heart breaks
as yours turns to stone
Blood thickens like glass
fear vacuums the streets

Like ships sailing through the night
you keep passing me by

like ships sending cannon balls to fly
trying to find the light
