In America, We Also Make Sacrifice

Thu, 08/15/2013 - 02:34 -- Chebrya

In America, we also make sacrifice

The pigs, the cows

and calves,

the chickens, the fish,

the salmon burned on the altars of our Gluttony; ”Feed us and be the propitiation”, we say.

The boys, the girls,

the men, the women

used, broken, enslaved,

cut into pieces, per say,

burned on the altars of our Greed; “Entertain and satisfy us” we chant.

Ourselves, burned on the altars of our Pride;

”Make me proud and something to gaze on” we beg

As the smoke rises.
