America the Great (Or So She Used To Be)
America the Great, or so she used to be...
We the people traded in our life and liberty.
We're slaves to media now
surrounded by what other people think,
struggling for independence like a spider in a sink.
Litter covers cities and plastic kills our fish,
but still we sit at McDonald's and add some more fries to our dish.
There are veterans who are homeless and people living in their cars
while others choose to spend their time sitting at the bars.
America the Great, or so she used to be...
If we the people want to see change, it starts with you and me.
