America the beautiful??

America the great?!

The place where refugees come to escape 

And where people search for religious freedom 

Where we claim to be so far advanced 

And yet racially we're stuck in the past 

Lately, everything's been getting worse

When were supposed to be advancing

Our recent "high power"

Is nothing but a bigot

A racist

A disgusting individual 

The country where

Depending on your complexion you can be 

Cold blood murdered for walking down the street

For reaching for your drivers license

For selling cds

For just breathing 

If this is what you call beautiful 

Either your eyes deceive you

Or mine deceive me 

Because all this hatred, racism, violence, and disgust is far from beautiful
