Am I Still Not Me?

Why aren’t we viewed as we want the world to see us?

Am I still not me when I apply an Earlybird filter?

I do not understand the amount of fuss

That arrives when I try to make my selfie a killer.

Underneath the black and white of Inkwell

Am no longer Kassy Leach, have I lost my identity?

A little change to a photo just to make your head swell,

because in real life we’ve all been hurt plenty.

So are we not taken as seriously when we put a little filter on?

To make ourselves feel better, to make us feel our fullest

Why can’t we be “authentic” while we pose in Hampton?

Isn’t all this talk a little useless?
