Alone

Sat, 03/16/2019 - 21:20 -- PXN

The darkness echoed all around me,

My failures questioning what I could be.

If history was destined to repeat,

My self-doubt would make me retreat.

When someone is bound to fail,

Dreams of joy and success go stale.

Yet, here I stand against the wave,

Fighting for a chance not to cave,

To prove to others that I have a voice,

But mostly tell myself I deserve to rejoice.
