All I Need

While cold sand seeps between my toes

And silent seabirds soar above my head

I slouch, drugged by unconsciousness

My blurred vision slowly reveals a foreign beach

Though it seemed familiar

As I tilt my head back

Dark clouds consume the sky

And I softly close my eyes

Waiting for the rain to come

But nothing falls

My fists clench and

As I realize I’m trapped

Panic instills

I’m here

Once again

How can one survive?

Without tangible necessities or internet connection

Or a single shoulder to cry on

There’s no way out

But then I’ve come to senses

This island is so familiar

Though the clouds have clogged my mind

I suddenly know

Where I am

Not a single sip of water

Nor a bit of wireless fidelity

Could contribute to my past experiences

They are bitter and blue but

It’s all I need
