All I ever wanted
Was for you
To want me
Take me
Absorb me
For who I am
But it seems too much to ask

You sneer and snicker
As I try to live my destiny
And while you despise
The sound of my voice
You offer no solutions to change it
To alter to something natural
To something
…Desirable
…Acceptable
…Artificial

You take advantage
Of a kind heart
A burdened mind
A battered conscious
And broken psyche
Which has been subject to much crime
Though I know what you say might be right

The slightest sway of hips
Complimentary movements of my arms
The hands, animate and alive
Which for my sake, I must hide

Deep down inside
I just hide it for normality
It is
All I’ve ever wanted
