Again

Galatians 3:3  New English Translation

3 Are you so foolish? Although you began with the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by human effort?

Again

A fresh start, full of hope, things will be different this time

I’ll do this, and I’ll do that, and here we go again

Starting off deep in a hole, I’ll start digging deeper

As long as I stay busy, I’ll dig without a plan

I’ll dig my way up to Heaven; I’ll discipline myself

I’ll keep my eyes on progress so I won’t fail again

Here and there I’ll rest a bit as I lean upon my shovel

It seems to be getting darker; I hope I won’t lose my tan

A voice keeps softly saying, let me get some wood

Together we build a ladder to get closer to the light

Me to trust a voice in the darkness, no way for my own good

I’ll just dig some deeper until I am completely out of sight

Now I am worn out and tired; I don’t think I can go on

I vaguely remember my new start, and here I failed again

The voice is bringing lots of wood; I’m so tired I can’t help

A ladder is formed in front of me, and true remorse sets in

The voice takes me by the hand and lifts me to his breast

He is climbing up the ladder, and I feel at peace and safe again

I’m thinking about a new start, but he softly interrupts me

Let Me start a new work, and I won’t let you down, my man

I’ll carry you all the way, and I’ll do most of the labor

Through you and your obedience, and it won’t be dark again

I’ll send you a comforter to help you to live always in the light

So darkness won’t control you anymoreand you’ll be a new man
