Afterglow

A mysterious halo emanates from your being.

It pierces through your cryptic outer shell,

Like a glorious sun behind the blackest clouds.

Expose your grand celestial light that you keep locked away!

Let your tears rain down upon the earth!

Let your life force encompass me like an unstoppable tempest!

Soon it will be too late, and my heart will sing a new song to the moon,

Where your memory will remain nothing but both a glow and a shadow.

Beyond the confines of earth and material, your outward light will remain pure,

But always victim to the infinite vacuum of space.

This reaper, cloaked with false stars, will own your luminous soul,

And you will remain a slave to unanswered mysteries of the universe,

Seeking and wanting a light, the very light that burns within you,

While I watch from beneath the clouds,

Awaiting the raining of your precious tears, your life-force, and your light.

Remaining a desperate prisoner to a hope,

A fading hope, that will soon release me from the very prison of your heart.
