The African American Dream

Tue, 04/18/2017 - 07:38 -- AishaF

Dreams sparked in thoughts

For money beyond,

For love and respect and freedom,

For bright musical schools,

Dreams dropped in two dollar days,

In dark "school" hallways,

In false promises of being however she wants.

No one ever warned her that there are consequences for skin colors and religions.

No one ever sis I'd that it hurt yo be whoever you want.

But what could you really be on two dollar days?
