The demons have pulled you in again

you’ve been cast back into the shadows,

I thought it was over and done

that you were back again, that you were you.

I was wrong

The old you is back

the old you was still corrupted, this is you

I can’t wish for you to change

because those kinds of wishes don’t come true

I want to fix you and help you,

But you filled me with so much dread

but please— I want you back

the old you

—the you I loved

I love how you relate the addiction to a person or a soul rather than just a mindset... it helps the reader connect on a deeper, more personal level that everyone can relate to! Beautiful work!!
