Acid Tongue

Wed, 05/13/2015 - 08:43 -- Kayden
There is acid in my mouth
On my tongue
In my lungs
In my throat

There is acid
In the words
I hiss
past
Drawn lips and
Bared teeth

There is acid
in your tears
as they burn
your cheeks

There is acid
In the way I speak
In the way you cry,
In the way I lie
And say
The wrong things.

There is acid
Where I wound you
With phrases
And praise
Of your flaws

There is acid
In the pain that
Pools around you
Where I left you
To bleed

This poem is about:
My family
