Abusive

Last winter I met a boy.

He carried with him a giant red flag, yet I was oblivious.

He treated me well and surprised me with gifts.

But then one day a switch was flipped.

His eyes no longer looked at me gently,

for they were filled with power and envy.

He began to squeeze my wrist and drag me around.

Amongst other things which I can't say aloud.

My distracted heart was now filled with worry. A familiar cage my anxiety shoved me. The key rusting in my shaking hand.
