The Abridged Trials and Tribulations of the American Millennial

Fuck your salt

I’m just saying

Why is it pink and Himalayan?

As for your sea salt, it's no surprise

It's organic, coarse

And iodized

And don't get me started

I just recoil

Anytime I get the scent of that coconut oil

I don't care if it's organic and raw

That's the nastiest shit I ever saw

Your chocolate dont go below 75 percent

I'm glad it's vegan

But don't even begin

To tell me cocoa butter is made with dairy

The thought of drinking milk is kinda scary

When that cruelty

Is ignored so heavily

In this country

Number one cause of obesity

Sit down for a sec and watch Cowspiracy

I’ll start small, I’ll start in the  kitchen

I’m just itchin

To roast some of your spices

That dried oregano smells like a quarter life crisis

And that rice

Cooker, unused on the shelf

seems like a promise to yourself

that was never delivered

To order less, cook more

Don't let them know know you haven't been to the grocery store

In 3 months

It's aight it's okay

That you don’t know how to cook an egg

Home ec’s gone and so is Health class

We all used to drink the liquor too fast

Cause we were never taught limits

The same way we learned physics

Like this isn't a game

Do you really think

That you can drink

The same

like you used to back in the day

When gettin caught with a fake was the biggest shame

Cause you couldn't even remember your own name

Or birth year and the card claims

Your high school graduation

Was during the Reagan administration

I remember when the worst thing to me

Was being underage, feelin like a baby

Drinking age ruining all my plans

Just know this shit would be fine in France

Red white and blue

Independence Day

But I can't buy an IPA

It's honestly cray

And pardon my jargon

I just wanna buy

A bottle of wine

Don't matter if it's dry or sweet

We can netflix and chill or watch GoT

Silicon Valley

Veep

HBO lineup makes it hard to go to sleep

At any reasonable hour

And that sour

Diesel makes shit louder

Than before

Hold the Door

But it's this generation you feel fam

We out here gettin woke af while stayin’ broke af

Cause knowledge is power til it stops being free

And you can't pay the loans AND the electricity

It's pretty shitty

When you think that In a city

Of 8 mill

You need five roommates to pay the heating bill

The rents too damn high

And the kids are too

Lighting a joint on the way to school

Nothin wrong with it, til you get busted

And the blue uniform you thought you trusted

To keep the city safe and nice

Has a grip on your throat like a vice

his knee on your back

But the white boy isn't catching any flack

A slap on the wrist, a ride home

When you KNOW he has that unlimited metrocard cause dad works for home

Land security

And if this made the news it

wouldn't be pretty

So we keep it hushed up.

Man this country all screwed up.
