Let’s be clear about one thing.
Our government is in the midst of devils in disguise.
We played advocate in the classroom,
not realizing that we were mimicking the true actions of a Walker.
Let me tell you what I realized.
I didn't know that the government played pin the tail on the donkey until I heard that Scott Walker was running rapidly with opportunity on his ass-So a brother can never get a hold of it.
Please tell me,
what made us put a fool in office who is a proud dropout of college?
Promises, are only truly solid when they come from El Elyon God of most high so now we suffer, the cuts
become the ninety-nine percent who can’t shoot the truth before a gun has its turn.
When, did free speech become silent blues?
So we cruise through the hood and occupy it to capacity; you might conceal your heat but I speak with audacity when I say that we don’t have to stand for a devil in disguise.
But rather our future doctors and lawyers protect them from the reach of educational reformers.
Recall, the time when your children had dreams and let that be the reason why we shout with whole beings for some quality schooling,
gather in massive job and teacher unions so we can be seen because apparently,
they can’t see us in their high government chairs.
Invisible, to their conscience when they’re making decisions while police de-spell our protest and visions.
When, did being a proud free citizen become such a crime?
I see fathers, losing their daughters cause they get restricted from becoming providers and they say that the issue is job lost.
But how can you lose what you haven’t been given?
There are product removals from job count calculations and the numbers they just rise as man-made illusions.
So you tell me, how do you tell a son that the family is moving because foreclosure has consumed their home, and it has now been given a feast?
We are, the ninety-nine percent whose anger is fueled by the devils in the government.
Remember,
that their power is only as great as we’re willing to allow it so if we don’t speak,
then we’re social injustice.
I petitioned together these words with the thought of my mother in mind.
She drains out her knowledge to students as she’s slowly drained out of time.
My teacher was silenced,
for wanting to create student community activist so I write,
to acquire their voices.
I write, to make known your voices.
I write, for everyone’s voices until one day,
rich money wouldn't be the only reason for these poor government choices but rather,
my grandmother’s healthcare would be something they cared about,
success stories in school would be something they heard about.
And the hood won't be the only place where we can go run about but the world,
To us would be available.
There are devils, in our government,
but we don’t have to stand for it,
because ninety-nine, will always be greater than one.
