5th Grade

Jumped, elated, I impressed the other kids

You directed that need to impress into logical competitions- imprinted the impression that elevated expression was a channel for my intention

Laughed, animated, I used humor to harm

You perfected the positive puns and honed the healthy humor to turn a flaw into an advantage- you remedied destructive by being constructive

Mad, aggravated, I threw fits that redefined fits

You questioned the source of my mood- the silliness of a situation, pointing out pointless reasoning that cured a stubborn student from their self

In 5th grade, You taught the healthy side of competition, of humor, and of a critical eye.

And now, it is what gets me by.
