2016 in a Poem

When an older boy approaches a young soul

His intentions aren't always pure

His inviting charm doesn't always mean he has a kind heart

This is one of many life lessons I learned in the span of a year

Don't be afraid to open your home to someone in need

But don't let them take advantage of you

Your true friends will stay by your side

Even when times get tough

Just because something seems impossible

Doesn't mean you can't do it

When the whole world is crashing down on you

God will help you pick up the pieces and begin again

And, most importantly, I was given my child for a reason

I am his life, he is my world
