According to history, slavery ended in 1862
and yet, one hundred years later, it still was not through
Everywhere you looked people were fighting
the world was full of hatred and slighting
Honestly, I don't understand how it started
How could people be so cold hearted?
People often say 'Don't judge a book by its cover'
yet we forgot how to be lovers
The color of someone's skin does not determine their worth
It is better to judge on someone's personality, not color at birth
Humans were never meant to rule over each other
No, we were meant to accept each and every one as our brother.
