America is weeping, weeping tears of sorrow.
The day is dark, uncertain; will there be tomorrow?
Two towering jewels once stood so high,
Symbols of freedom in the sky.

As in the days of Sodom, fire and brimstone from on high
The clouds were thick with smoke and ash, there was no light, no sky.
Panic and horror, fear and dread.
Many injured, many dead.

Firefighters search the ground.
Dust and rubble all around.
Now hearts are broken, battered, torn
Missing brothers, a nation mourns.

But our President's words are strong.
We will fight the evil and the wrong.
But somehow, someway, we will endure.
We are Americans. This is sure.
