Hebrews 12:1-2 

The Lord’s Discipline

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, 2 keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for Him He endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

 

 

Suffering for the Lord ... is profitable and rewarding

and here the will is exercised for the natural man to resist.

To accept what God allows ... as others always test us

should be handled in His way ... in love and call and bliss.

 

Don’t ever forget the passive acceptance of the suffering

It will give an opportunity ... for an evil spirit to torment.

So not to know the difference ... in what God allows

and what the enemy dispenses ... will lose you any moment.

 

The difference between ... a victim and a martyr

one choose to suffer ... and to the other, it just came.

Strange that difference ... that in one you are rendered helpless

and in the other you understand ... its beginning and its name.

 

Suffering for righteousness as you walk the path of life

and suffering in the flesh ... as decay takes its toll.

There is a great difference ... how to approach each kind

for faith is there to sustain ... when death is on a roll.

 

How does one conceive himself ... as one goes through suffering?

Does one see these symptoms ... of a great entrenchment?

Instigated by self somehow ... or the prince of disobedience

Does one separate as they are ... a fact of death’s procurement?

 

It is hard to put into words ... the things not understood.

Can empty words fill a page ... with cluttered nothingness?

Not good for self or anyone ... who is searching for some food

to still the hunger for things to know ... and just to taste bitterness.
