"Let Down Your Long Hair"

Rapunzel, Rapunzel

All she did was stare

Rapunzel, Rapunzel

Sat wrapped in her long black hair

Rapunzel, Rapunzel

“Let Down Your Long Hair!”

Only a fool would dare

To come to the window of the witch’s lair

A witch said to eat the hearts of men

A witch named Rapunzel

But every now and then

One would dare

To take up the task

Not knowing it would be his last

With a shadow cast in the sky

Her hair would fall

From way up high

In reply to the call

Hidden in the hair, far away

Was a small face

Like that of a doll

Pale, seemingly frail

She had responded to the hail

It was time for him to clime

Time to make her answer for her crime

At the end, he a was greeted by darkness

A pitch black room

He didn’t last-

 None ever did

For the witch was heartless

She found the face of terror

Sublime

Rapunzel is Cruel-

And without compassion

One should take care

To avoid her ashen and dark corner-

Of the forest

She will off even the smallest

So, children, take care

To avoid the horrible lair

Of the witch with the long and flowing black hair

For Rapunzel doesn’t play fair

Once you are trapped in her snare
