"Burning Rhyme"
sinking in the sand
blistering heat
burning soles
clockwork rising
assured as the waves
lapping
acid salt, and
sunburned dreams
persistent
glancing up
a time piece
is not needed here
the bare sand
and silence is kept
in check
no, the device
of choice functions
to remember
burden, consequence of
sins past yet
ringing constant
reading, reciting
as a torturous
rhyme
a talisman of
what is done
and life's long song
"water, water,
everywhere..."
all the time to think
This poem is about:
Me
